Part I: System Overview
1. System Overview
The VMS8000F rotating machinery monitoring and protection device provides continuous monitoring functions and is suitable for all industrial rotating machinery and equipment applications. The system adopts a frame structure and can connect a variety of sensors (acceleration, speed, displacement, eddy current, etc.) and process sensors (flow, pressure, temperature, analog, etc.) to provide real-time status monitoring and protection for the unit, and has strong expansion capabilities and compatibility, and is easy to install.
The VMS8000F rotating machinery monitoring and protection device is an intelligent system that can configure monitoring parameters and adopts a redundant power supply design to make the system more stable and safer to operate.
2. System components
The monitoring system adopts intelligent module design including:
- VMS8000F/05 instrument frame (mandatory)
Panel installation is adopted. The 1st and 2nd card slots on the far left of the frame are power card slots, and the 3rd and 4th card slots are system module card slots. The remaining card slots in the frame can be inserted with functional modules and occupied in any combination.
- VMS8000F/90 one (mandatory) or two power supplies
VMS8000F/90 has two forms: AC and DC. A single power supply can be used in the frame, or a redundant power supply can be used when power interruption is not allowed. They are located in the 1st and 2nd card slots at the far left of the frame. The redundant power supply can be powered by different voltage sources, and each power supply can power the entire frame and its modules separately.
- VMS8000F/xxxx Functional Modules
(1) System Module (Required)
The central processing system of the system module device can realize functions such as configuration, status display, fault alarm, data storage, etc., and has rich communication interfaces, such as: RS485, Ethernet, USB, RS232, etc., which can be used for data transmission and sharing with other systems.
(2) Vibration module (optional)
The vibration module can receive signals from vibration sensors. Including: any ICP type of acceleration sensor, velocity sensor, magnetoelectric sensor, low frequency sensor, eddy current sensor.
(3) Temperature module
The temperature module can accept PT100 temperature sensor signal input.
(4) Speed module
The speed module can accept eddy current sensor, magnetoresistive sensor or Hall sensor signals. The signal range is +12.0V to -24.0V. Signals outside this range are limited inside the module.
(5) Stroke module
The stroke module can receive LVDT sensor signals from casing expansion, fuel tank oil level sensor signals, etc.
(6) Process quantity module
The process quantity module can receive standard analog signals (-10V~+10Vdc or 4~20mA) and is used to monitor key parameters of mechanical equipment, such as pressure, flow, temperature, level, etc.
